Revealed: Shocking photos show scantily clad French women cavorting with their Nazi lovers

THESE are the haunting images of the women who collaborated with Nazis in occupied Western Europe during the Second World War.

From 1940 to 1944, the Germans occupied the vast majority of Western Europe – totally controlling countries like France and Holland.

As German soldiers got comfortable in their new surroundings, they started looking for women.

And as always in times of military occupation, there were willing women to be found.

The photographs show scantily clad women cavorting and partying with Nazi officers, half-naked females posing in German SS uniforms and young girls leaping into the arms of their Nazi lovers.

Other images show women drinking, cuddling, flirting and even swapping clothes with their Nazi beaus during wartime occupation.

Although the identities of the pictured women are unknown – many of these photographs are thought to have been found amongst the effects of German prisoners after the end of the war.

The collection of images offer a fascinating and troubling insight into what life was like for some women living in close quarters with the enemy under Hitler’s regime.

With huge numbers of local men either dead, hiding or imprisoned, some women used sex as a means of survival in German-occupied France.

Despite more than two million Frenchmen being held in prisoner-of-war camps, the birth rate boomed in 1942 with an estimated 200,000 children born to Franco-German couples.

In one of the German-occupied Channel Islands, 900 such babies were registered – whilst Norway saw 12,000 children born.

Women who cavorted with the Germans were known as "Jerrybags" on Guernsey.

In fact, German marriages were explicitly encouraged in Denmark and Holland.
